What is a Secret Santa ?
The tradition of Secret Santa is a gift exchange between a group of people in which the person receiving the gift doesn't know who the giver is going to be. Seems like a lot of fun, doesn't it? since DeviantArt is an artistic web community, so we decided to make an art Santa. We have run the Future Disney Artists Secret Santa every year for the last six years and hope to have an awesome one this year as wel
The gift will be a piece of art made by yourself, or a fanfiction for example, that you will do for your recipient and that you will post here on your account.
There is no physical gift giving everything. Everything is on DA
Who may participate?
Participation is open to any member/watcher of FutureDisneyArtists or Art-Tutoring-Program We have absolutely no requirements on skill level or main artistic medium. Everyone is welcome to participate
How will it work?
At the bottom of the journal is a questionnaire.
Please copy the questions and send your answers IN A NOTE titled "Secret Santa Questionnaire" to SangFe.
DO NOT SEND YOUR QUESTIONNAIRE TO THE GROUP!
You'll have until the 16th of November to send your questionnaire and apply to the Secret Santa. Between the 16th and the 23th of November, I will add a journal to my STASH with everyone's answers assigned a number (with the name removed, of course). I will note each participant the link to the journal and participants will then reply with their first 3 choices. Assignments will be made (by note) on a first-come, first-serve basis. When a number is assigned, it will be removed from the journal. This will be explained in detail in the assignment note.
Rules and due dates
You'll have until the 16th of November to send your questionnaire and apply to the Secret Santa.
The due date to send your final gift is the 16th of January. Then from the 16th to the 20th of January, we will contact swing Santas to complete missing gifts, we will allow some delays depending on the circumstances but you must contact us before the 16th if you can't make it in time.
When your gift is finished, post the deviation to your gallery and the group and send both your recipient and me (SangFe) a note with the thumb or a link to it.
Your gift must adhere to normal group rules: there must be a canon Disney character, place, or thing present. All work must be your own. No screenshots, Disney promotional photographs, or any official Disney art may be used.
Medias allowed are: traditional art, digital art, handcrafts, sculpture, and literature MADE ESPECIALLY FOR THE EVENT, you can't use an old deviation of yours, it's not fair, the gift has to be personal and corresponding to your recipient's wishlist
Admins reserve the right to reject a gift. We will not ever reject a gift based on skill level, but if it's clear the deviation only took 15 minutes or none effort was put in it, or you took one of your old deviations, we'll refuse it and reassign a Swing Santa to your recipient.
As a recipient, if you feel that you have been given an inappropriate gift please note me personally. Remember skill level will not be taken into consideration - if it is clear your Santa put thought and effort into their gift it will be accepted by the group. If the gift is ultimately rejected by the group you will be assigned to one of our swings.
While December 25th is the best time to submit your gift, you can submit any time in December or before the 16th of January if you wish.
Those that complete the gift before the 25th will get a surprise.
What happens if someone doesn't complete their gift
If you pull out of Secret Santas before you have received your gift, no harm done. Your Santa will have the choice of still completing your gift or being reassigned to a swing position.
If you pull out of Secret Santas after having received your gift but before the 16th of January, the group may ask the artist that made your gift to remove credit to you.
If after the 16th of January you have not completed your gift but have received yours, the group will ask the artist that made your gift to remove credit to you. You will end up on the "Coal list"and will not be able to participate again so if you are not going to be done in time, tell us.
For recipients, if your Santa has pulled out of the project or if you haven't received your gift by the 20th of January, you'll be reassigned to a Swing Santa, who will make you a gift that you will hopefully receive by the 31st of January
So in short, if you think that for any reason you are going to be too busy December and January then don't enter this event.

I can/can't be a Swing Santa if someone should not complete their gift. (It means if someone leaves the project, you'll be asked to make a present for the recipient they had been assigned to)
